52 Smiles: Street Cred Smile

Proverbs 15:13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit. This Blog was created to offer hope, encouragement,and joy. It is my believe the a smile is a powerful tool, especially in urban communities where the world can be a harsh and cold place. I will go to under served communities with my camera for one YEAR. Each week, for a total of 52 weeks, I will ask one person on the street to volunteer to give the world a smile. Can you smile with me?

Day One - It Has Begun

Day one - A Smile is hard to come by in this area.

I met Casper on the corner of Mosby St. and Venable st. in Church Hill. I walked around that area for about 30 minutes before anyone would allow me to take their picture. I got many sour looks, several "I don't Smile"answers, and at least three "I need to get to the dentist first"(They were completely serious. Healthcare is a true struggle for that community).
